River Bank Protection – Private Property

The land belonging to a private owner along the Tonle Sap river at KM 15 on the RN 5 is seriously damaged by erosion resulting from a combination of slope stability, wave action, surface run-off, infiltration…

Several designs and works had been made, but the bank still settles and slides.
KCEC has been invited in late 2004 to make a study and a new design of the bank protection works.

Works done by KCEC    :
–    Topographic and soil survey
–    Hydraulic study (surface water, infiltration)
–    Slope stability analysis
–    Design of bank protections works (maccaferri gabions retaining wall and geotextile membrane).
–    Cost estimate (Approx. 300,000 US$).

BETT Rural School House

In the framework of the Cambodian – Belgium bilateral cooperation project “Basic Education and Teacher Training Project” (BETT), the BTC (Belgian Technical Cooperation) has selected KCEC in April 2004 for:

–    the preparation of a basic document for the design of the structure of a standard rural school house in Cambodia including drawings, technical specifications, bill of quantities, cost estimates
–    the on-the-job training of one client’s engineer to this standard design

The Latter-Day Saints organization has retained Axiom Architects and KCEC to design and supervise the construction in December 2001 – March 2004 of a Church in Phnom Penh City (included Church Chamcarmon, Church Veng Sreng, Church Takhmao).

C6 Phnom Penh Thermal Power Plant (5 MW)

The Contractor KC MKK Co. Ltd. was awarded with a contract by EDC to construct in 94-95 the Building of the Power Plant, the drainage system and the landscaping works. KCEC assisted the Contractor for the Construction Management and supervision for Quality Control.

Topographical and Soil Survey: Phnom Penh International Airport and Siem Reap/Angkor International Airport.

The Société Concessionnaire de l’Aéroport (SCA) had decided to undertake a systematic check of the foundation of the runways as well as of the taxiways at the 2 airports.

A contract has been awarded to Scott Wilson Kirkpartrick Co. (SWK) to undertake the Topographical and soil investigation surveys prior to the redesign of these works. KCEC has been awarded by SWK a sub-contract to carry out such surveys and laboratory testing, from January to May 2005.

Works done by KCEC:
•    Planimetric and vertical surveys of the runways, drainage canal and the taxiways.
•    Soil and concrete drilling in the apron and the foundation of the runways and taxiways.
•    In-situ tests for density, moisture content, DCP and CBR.
•    Laboratory testing for soil properties (Alterberg Limits, density, gravity, granulometry, cohesion, CBR……..

GMS Siemreap – Poipet RN5 and RN6, and RN56 & 68 Rhabilitation Project : Construction Supervision

MPWT, the Executive Agency of this ADB funded project, has decided to rehabilitate the National Road no 5 from Poipet to Sisophon (Bantay Mean Chey), the National Road no 6 from Sisophon to Siemreap city, the Road 56 from Sisophon to Samrong (Otdar Mean Chey), and the Road 68 from Samrong to Kralanh (Siem Reap).

Korean Consultant International (KCI) won the contract for the supervision of the construction in association with KCEC as a sub-consultant.

The contract period in from December 2004-December 2007 (3 years).
